Chronicle Experience Fund

How Your Support Helps
The Chronicle provides the best possible experience for Duke students with a passion for journalism. The Chronicle recruits the most talented students at Duke – people with interests in business, marketing and technology as well as journalism – and sets them free to define how journalism will be practiced in the decades to come.

Your gift to the Chronicle Experience Fund will provide support for investments in innovation, training for current staff, paid internships and increased opportunities for career networking with alumni – whatever it takes to provide the best Chronicle to the Duke community, and the best Chronicle experience to Duke students.

Why Your Support is Critical
The Chronicle became fully independent from Duke University in 1993, and now operates under the Duke Student Publishing Company, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Chronicle has a healthy balance sheet, a solid reserve and a continued commitment to publishing five days a week. But The Chronicle requires additional revenue streams – including philanthropic support from its alumni and friends – if it is going to thrive for the long term amidst fundamental changes in the advertising and media business and an unsettled economy.

Whether you are an alumna/us, a parent or a friend, your support is critical if The Chronicle is to continue to be a source of independent news for the Duke community, a training ground for leaders and a laboratory for the future of journalism.
